There are many times in our lives when we need to cry out, “help!” And when you do, Jesus is there listening to your cry. The Bible says Jesus hears every cry from your heart: when you are in pain, when you are in difficulty, if you will cry out, “Jesus help me”, He will answer you; even if it is a silent cry from your heart, God hears: the Bible says God, through Jesus, knows the very thoughts of your heart; nothing is hidden from Him. The Scripture teaches that man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks upon the heart.
All of us can cry out, “O God help me! I’m crippled; I’ve got arthritis; my arm is broken; I am blind in one eye; I’ve got heart trouble; help me!” And when you do call upon Him, God will answer. This is the miracle of salvation: whoever you are – the widow, the single parent, the sick; however poor, however weak; the drug addict, the alcoholic, the criminal – we all have direct access to God through Christ; we have been adopted into His family. God is only a prayer away – He loves you – He wants to talk to you.
‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and the mountains carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling’ (Ps 46).
