TEMPLATE LETTER FOR MPs – TO ADVISE & EDUCATE OUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES…….
I hope that you are well. It has been brought to my attention that there are some talks taking place in Parliament later this week under the heading of ‘PESCO’. The details in the agenda are sketchy (simply says ‘PESCO’) so I took the opportunity to find out what is meant by ‘PESCO’.
Here is the relevant document – https://ec.europa.eu/epsc/pu
Despite you and I wanting Brexit, the aforementioned document which precedes this week’s meeting highlights the prospect of EU Military integration, possibly by the end of this year. I understand everything has been decided in advance of the meeting. Selmayr as I understand it (Juncker aide) is in effect telling diplomats what to say. The diplomats of the 28 countries (yes 28 not 27) draft the EU Conclusions and minister have to stand up and explain why they disagree with their diplomats in the EU Council meeting. If ministers don’t do this, the conclusions stand as EU Council conclusions. I am sure that I do not need to spell the matter out that with military union comes fiscal union. There will be no (meaningful) Brexit with our troops answerable to Brussels.
Of course there is now going to be a nationwide campaign which will highlight what is going on behind closed doors. I was hoping that by my writing to you I may be able to prevent the Conservative Members of Parliament making a big mistake by overlooking such important matters. Time and time again now we are finding that important matters including those of national security are no longer being debated in Parliament.
I await your response with interest.
NOW YOU ARE NOT RESTRICTED IN WRITING TO JUST YOUR OWN MP – OH NO…..I HAVE ALREADY WRITTEN TO A NEIGHBOURING MP AND HIS RESPONSE WAS TO TRY TO FOB ME OFF BY TALKING ABOUT PARLIAMENTARY PROTOCOL SO…..
I FOLLOWED UP THEIR RESPONSE WITH
I have just checked this out and I can now see that your response is not correct. There is no such strict Parliamentary protocol, law or statue instrument. This is a hear say, in effect voluntary scheme. Not being able to approach any MP is not within Common Law.
I await your response
ALWAYS BE FIRM AND POLITE!!
