SNP MINISTERS REJECTED APPEALS TO BACK CATALAN INDEPENDENCE

Scottish ministers have rebuffed repeated attempts by the Catalan government to press its case for independence.  In the run up to the contentious independence referendum, which was held on October 1, ministers in the breakaway Spanish region wrote to the SNP administration four times, only to be met with non-committal responses or no replies at all…Mr Swinney did reply, and while he expressed his concern for developments in Catalonia, he said: “The Scottish government does not have a view on whether Catalonia should become an independent state.”
